Mission 14 of 67Story mission
The laundrette has decided to pay after all and the briefcase is waiting behind the building. It is a trap, and the game does not pretend otherwise for very long: picking the money up puts five Triads with baseball bats in a ring around Claude.
Getting the cash back to Momma's is what the mission asks. Doing it without stopping to fight is entirely possible and is what the published method recommends.
The briefcase is behind Mr Wong's Laundromat in Chinatown, down a narrow alley. Driving in rather than walking means the pickup and the exit are the same movement, and it tends to take at least one of the ambushers with it.
The ring that closes in is armed with bats and can be fought or simply driven away from. The one that matters comes afterwards: a Triad Fish Van with a gun in it, in pursuit.
The money goes to Momma's Restaurante. The Triads are permanently hostile from here on.

Left for dead by his partner during a bank job and freed from a prison transport by an explosion he had nothing to do with. Says nothing at all for the length of the story and works his way through every organisation in Liberty City regardless.
