Left for dead by his partner during a bank job and freed from a prison transport by an explosion he had nothing to do with. Says nothing at all for the length of the story and works his way through every organisation in Liberty City regardless.

Not to be confused with Claude Speed, a protagonist in GTA 2. The two protagonists share a first name; nothing in either game connects them.

Dossier

The series has never given him a line, and his file reads accordingly, all addresses and no opinions. Liberty City moves him one island at a time, by safehouse: the Red Light District in Portland, Belleville Park on Staunton Island, Wichita Gardens in Shoreside Vale. San Andreas has him as Catalina's new partner, racing Carl Johnson for the deed to a garage, again without a word.
