The Getaway

Mission 12 of 67Story missionOptional

01/03

Briefing

Joey's last job is the oldest one in the genre: three men, a bank in Chinatown and a car outside with the engine running. Claude never goes inside. He collects them from a Saint Mark's hideout, waits, and drives whoever comes back out.

Whoever is the operative word. The fee is paid per surviving robber, so the mission has three outcomes and the difference between them is how well the escape is driven.

02/03

Objectives

  1. Go to the hideout.
  2. Sound the horn.
  3. Get to the bank.
  4. Drive the robbers back to the hideout.

Walkthrough

  1. Four doors, and not a bus

Three passengers need a four-door car. A Coach will not be accepted — the crew consider it conspicuous — and the mission is only offered between six in the morning and two in the afternoon.

  2. Horn at the hideout, then the Bank of Liberty

Sounding the horn outside the Saint Mark's hideout brings the three of them out. There is a deadline on reaching the bank in Chinatown.

  3. The escape is the paid part

They come out with police behind them, and every robber who reaches the hideout alive is worth another ten thousand. Losing the wanted level at a Pay 'n' Spray or with a bribe is the difference between one survivor and three; losing all three fails it.

  • Gives the job

Joey Leone, as they appear in GTA III.

Salvatore's son, running a garage in Trenton and expecting to inherit the family on the strength of the surname alone.
