Mission 41 of 67Story mission
Ray's first job is his old partner. Leon McAffrey has agreed to testify about what the two of them were doing with the Yakuza and is sitting in a witness protection house in Newport, which is a matter of public record if you are a policeman.
The house has an open window and the mission supplies grenades, which is the game being unusually direct about what it expects.
The safehouse in Newport has a window left open and putting a grenade through it sets the building alight, which is what brings McAffrey out.
The escape is by car and letting him get away fails the mission. Blocking the garage with something large before starting leaves him nowhere to go.
LCPD officers turn up alongside and have to be dealt with while McAffrey is finished.

Left for dead by his partner during a bank job and freed from a prison transport by an explosion he had nothing to do with. Says nothing at all for the length of the story and works his way through every organisation in Liberty City regardless.
