Mission 46 of 67Story mission
Donald Love is a media proprietor with an interest in property values and a friend the Colombian Cartel are holding in Aspatria. The rescue needs a Cartel car to get through the gate, because walking in is not an option.
Love never explains who the old man is, and the game never tells us. He is the pivot of four missions and is credited only as the Old Oriental Gentleman.
The car is the way in and the mission says where to find one. Arriving in anything else means fighting at the gate rather than past it.
The compound in Aspatria can be worked on from outside with a rifle before driving in, and the Cruiser itself is an effective way to deal with men in the open once inside.
The old man is behind one of several garage doors and they have to be opened until he is found. A shotgun is the weapon for the space this happens in.
The return is to the Love Media building in Bedford Point, and arriving in the Cruiser is quicker than finding something else. His death fails the mission.

Left for dead by his partner during a bank job and freed from a prison transport by an explosion he had nothing to do with. Says nothing at all for the length of the story and works his way through every organisation in Liberty City regardless.
