Courtney's last contract is a set of vans belonging to men he describes as SPANKed-up madmen, and destroying them is the job. What the mission does not say beforehand is that Courtney has arranged for Claude not to come back from it.
The betrayal is the point. Finishing it makes the Yardies hostile — the fourth gang in the game to end up that way, and the fourth strand to close itself.
Each has to be destroyed rather than stopped, so something explosive is worth carrying into it.
Courtney has sold Claude to the men in the vans, so the opposition is heavier than the briefing suggests and arrives knowing who it is looking for.
Completing it ends Courtney's strand and makes his gang permanently hostile.

Left for dead by his partner during a bank job and freed from a prison transport by an explosion he had nothing to do with. Says nothing at all for the length of the story and works his way through every organisation in Liberty City regardless.
