Sweet's answer to the whole problem is to put the sets back together, and the meeting to do it is at the Jefferson Motel. It goes wrong before it starts: the police are already there, Sweet is inside, and Carl arrives to a building under siege.
Getting him out is the mission, and getting away afterwards involves a SWAT helicopter that has to be brought down. It is the largest thing Grove Street attempts in Los Santos, and it is the last mission before the one that ends the act.
Sweet is inside and the building is held. The fight up to him is the straightforward part of the mission and the crew Carl brought fights it alongside him.
The Police Maverick is the objective rather than the scenery, and it will keep putting men on the ground until it is destroyed. Everything on hand — the fuel tank shot, sustained fire from cover — is worth spending on it, because the ground fight does not end while it is up.
The escape is a follow, and Sweet takes a route the pursuit is not expecting. Staying with him matters more than clearing what is behind.

Home in Los Santos after five years in Liberty City for his mother's funeral, and stopped by the same two police officers who drove him out. Rebuilding the family's standing turns into rebuilding most of the state's.
