Mission 29 of 105Story mission
Cesar calls Carl to an intersection under the Mulholland freeway and shows him what is there: a green Sabre, and the men getting out of it. Everything Carl believed about the night his mother died is wrong, and the two people it was wrong about are the two he has been running errands for since he got home.
Then it is Sweet, ambushed and pinned, and a fight to hold the Ballas off him until the police arrive — which is not a rescue. The act ends with Sweet in custody, Carl in the back of a C.R.A.S.H. car, and Los Santos three hundred miles behind him.
Nothing is asked of the player at the intersection except to be there. What Cesar shows Carl is the hinge of the whole story and the mission is in no hurry about it.
The drive to the ambush is against a clock — Sweet is already pinned when it starts. Take the direct route rather than a clean one.
The last objectives are a defence in waves, on foot, with Sweet down. Backup is announced each time it arrives and the final wave comes by car. The mission is not won or lost on this fight: it ends the way it ends, which is worth knowing before spending everything Carl is carrying on it.

Home in Los Santos after five years in Liberty City for his mother's funeral, and stopped by the same two police officers who drove him out. Rebuilding the family's standing turns into rebuilding most of the state's.
