GTA: San AndreasLos Santos

High Stakes, Low Rider

Mission 27 of 105Story mission

01/03

Briefing

Cesar's contribution to the alliance is a race. The Aztecas run lowriders out of El Corona and Carl is entered in one, which means a car with hydraulics and a circuit through the south of Los Santos against drivers who know it.

It pays a flat thousand and it is the shortest mission in this stretch of the game. What it is really doing is establishing Cesar as somebody who brings Carl work rather than somebody Kendl is seeing.

Walkthrough

  1. The car

This is a lowrider race and the field is lowriders — a Majestic, a Remington, a Savanna, a Tahoma. Handling rather than top speed decides it, and the hydraulics are cosmetic once the race is running.

  2. Winning it

The circuit runs through El Corona and the streets around it, and the opposition drives it cleanly rather than aggressively. Taking the racing line and not trading paint at corners is enough; there is no shortcut the mission rewards.

Where this mission leads

Who this mission brings together, and the ground it covers.

  • Playable

Carl Johnson, as they appear in GTA: San Andreas.

Home in Los Santos after five years in Liberty City for his mother's funeral, and stopped by the same two police officers who drove him out. Rebuilding the family's standing turns into rebuilding most of the state's.

  • Gives the job

Cesar Vialpando, as they appear in GTA: San Andreas.
