Mission 47 of 105Story mission
Cesar has found out where the San Fierro end of the drug trade meets, and one of the men who will be at the table is Ryder. Carl goes with a camera rather than a gun: the job is four faces, photographed clearly enough to be identified afterwards.
The four turn out to be Jizzy B., T-Bone Mendez, Mike Toreno and Ryder himself, and between them they are the Loco Syndicate. Everything Carl does in San Fierro for the next dozen missions comes out of this roof.
The vantage point is fixed and the mission puts Carl on it. Nothing here is a fight — being seen is not the failure condition, running out of time is.
The objective is explicit that each shot must be zoomed in on the face, and a wide shot of the group does not count for any of them. Work through the four in turn rather than trying to frame more than one.
The photographs are the mission and the identification is the payoff. Ryder being in them is the second betrayal the story lands on Carl, and the other three names are the next chapter's worth of work.
