Mission 54 of 105Story mission
A van of the Syndicate's product has to cross San Fierro and the road ahead of it has been blocked in four places by the San Fierro Rifa and the Da Nang Boys. Carl rides escort on a Sanchez with a rocket launcher and clears each block before the van reaches it.
It is a mission with a moving deadline rather than a timer: the van never stops, so every roadblock has to be gone by the time it arrives. It pays $9,000, the largest fee in the Syndicate strand.
The bike is faster than the van and the whole mission depends on using that margin. Falling in behind the van means arriving at each block at the same moment it does, with no room to clear it.
The rocket launcher is what the mission provides and it is meant to be fired from further back than feels natural — a rocket at close range takes the rider off the bike along with the roadblock.
There is no pause between blocks. As soon as one goes, the next objective is already counting down against the van's progress, so reloading and repositioning happen on the move.
