Life's a Beach

Mission 19 of 105Story mission

01/04

Briefing

OG Loc's first request as a recording artist is a sound system, and the one he has in mind belongs to a beach party in the Marina. Getting near it means getting past the DJ, and getting past the DJ means dancing well enough to be let through.

The dance floor is scored, the target is 2500, and the mission will not proceed until Carl clears it. Then the van is simply stolen and driven to the garage, which is a much shorter problem than the one before it.

Objectives

  1. Go to the beach party
  2. When you get to the beach party, go and talk to the DJ
  3. Get a score of 2500 or greater to gain access to the sound van
  4. Steal the sound van
  5. Get the van back to the garage

Walkthrough

  1. The window

The mission only starts between 22:00 and 06:00. It is a beach party, and the marker is genuinely not there during the day.

  2. Clearing 2500

The dancing is a rhythm test scored on timing rather than on speed, and 2500 is the stated bar. A clean run of on-beat inputs clears it comfortably; missed inputs cost the run its multiplier, which is what makes a rushed attempt score worse than a careful one.

  3. The van

Once the DJ steps aside the theft is unopposed, and what remains is a slow vehicle driven across town. There is no pursuit worth planning for.

  • Playable

Carl Johnson, as they appear in GTA: San Andreas.

Home in Los Santos after five years in Liberty City for his mother's funeral, and stopped by the same two police officers who drove him out. Rebuilding the family's standing turns into rebuilding most of the state's.

OG Loc, as they appear in GTA: San Andreas.
