Mission 20 of 105Story mission
OG Loc cannot write, so he sends Carl to Madd Dogg's mansion to steal the rhyme book of a man who can. The house is guarded, the studio is at the back, and the mission is the first in San Andreas built around stealth rather than around a fight.
It is also where the silenced pistol enters the game, which is the tool the mission is teaching. Crouching, shadow, and taking a guard from behind are all worth more here than any amount of firepower.
The way in is the rear door and the mission says so explicitly. Approaching the front is the slow way to find out how many guards the house has.
A guard taken quietly from behind never raises the alarm, and shadow is a real mechanic here rather than decoration. The silenced pistol unlocked by this mission is the alternative where a knife cannot be brought to bear.
The studio is the objective, but the mission does not end there — the book has to reach OG Loc at the Burger Shot. Leaving the grounds is easier than entering them, because whatever has been dealt with stays dealt with.
