Home Invasion

Mission 12 of 105Story mission

01/04

Briefing

Ryder's plan is a van, a dark night and Colonel Fuhrberger's house, where a war veteran keeps crates of guns in his garage. The mission runs on a noise meter rather than a timer: everything inside the house is done crouched and slowly, and waking the owner ends it.

It is San Andreas's burglary tutorial, and it unlocks the burglary side job wholesale — the van, the routine and the night window all carry straight over into a pastime that runs for the rest of the game.

02/04

Objectives

  1. Park the truck near the house and get the guns before daylight
  2. Enter the house
  3. Find a crate
  4. Steal at least 3 crates of guns
  5. Take the guns back to the truck
  6. Fetch another crate
  7. Find a crate, or get in the truck and offload stashed items
  8. Get safely back to the lockup
  9. Park the truck inside the lockup

Walkthrough

  1. The window

The mission can only be started between 12:00 and 20:00, and the theft itself happens after dark. If the marker is not there, sleep or wait rather than hunting for it.

  2. Crouched, and slowly

Noise is the fail condition inside the house. Move crouched, take corners at walking pace, and carry one crate at a time to the Boxville rather than trying to shortcut the trips — three is the minimum the mission accepts.

  3. The lockup

The job is not banked until the van is parked inside the Willowfield lockup, so a clean burglary followed by a wrecked drive home still loses it. Take the route back at the same pace as the rest of the mission.

Carl Johnson, as they appear in GTA: San Andreas.

Home in Los Santos after five years in Liberty City for his mother's funeral, and stopped by the same two police officers who drove him out. Rebuilding the family's standing turns into rebuilding most of the state's.
