Briefing
Isaac Roth is in the penthouse of the Majestic Hotel with the diamond dealers, and Ray wants all of them dead. It is a vertical assault with roughly twenty-five men in it, and it offers a genuine choice of route: up through the hotel, or up the outside of the building on the window cleaners' platform.
Backup is no use on either — a called-in crew will not get into the lift and cannot use the platform — so this is a solo job whichever way it is done.
Objectives
- Go to the Majestic Hotel
- Find a way to the penthouse suite and eliminate Isaac and the diamond dealers
- Escape from the hotel
Walkthrough
Two ways up
The lift takes Niko to the thirtieth floor and into the guarded corridors. The window-cleaning platform on the rear of the building goes up the outside instead, which skips most of them and lets Niko come in above the fight.
Inside
Take a shotgun before stepping into the lift — the hallways and stairwells are close work throughout. A grenade thrown into the first hallway saves a great deal of it, and there is an orange gas cylinder on the way up worth shooting rather than walking past.
The kitchen
One of the dealers is in the kitchen and can be killed or left. Neither answer affects the rest of the mission.
Isaac
He is in the bedroom on the upper floor and dismisses a companion as Niko arrives, who is likewise optional. The room is small, which is what the shotgun was for.
The roof, and the way down
The last dealer and a group of hired guns are above, clustered near a fuel tank — one shot into it does most of the work. Two stars follow, and the facade lift can be lowered to leave down the outside of the building rather than through the lobby the police are heading for.
