Casing the Jewel Store

Mission 12 of 83Heist setupThe Jewel Store Job

01/04

Briefing

The casing run for the first heist. Michael walks into the Vangelico store wearing camera glasses, photographs the alarm, the vents and the cameras, then finds a way onto the roof to shoot the ventilation from above.

Every approach to the Jewel Store Job runs this mission — it is where the crew board is filled in and where the choice between going loud and going quiet is set up.

02/04

  4. Speak to the assistant

03/04

Walkthrough

  1. Inside the store

The Picture Perfect criterion asks for all three security features in a single photograph, and it is far easier from the doorway end of the shop than from the counter. Line the shot up before raising the camera rather than adjusting while zoomed.

  2. The roof

The access point is a fire escape rather than the front of the building. Heading straight for it saves most of the eight-minute budget; players lose the time criterion circling the block looking for a way up.

  3. Choosing the crew

The mission ends at the planning board, and the choice made there is worth more than the medal. A cheap gunman costs a percentage and can lose you jewels in the finale; a cheap driver costs very little. This is the mission to spend on the gunman.

04/04

Gold Medal

2 criteria, all of which have to be met in a single run. Failing one does not fail the mission — it costs the medal.

  1. Time

    Complete within 08:00.

  2. Picture Perfect

Capture all 3 security features in one picture.

Frame from the doorway end of the shop rather than the counter.
