Mission 50 of 105Story missionOptional

01/04

Briefing

Berkley's couriers are making deliveries across San Fierro and Zero wants all five stopped, from the cockpit of a radio-controlled biplane with a fixed fuel load. The RC Baron is fragile, slow to turn and running out of fuel from the moment it takes off.

It is the other mission in this strand with a reputation, and for the opposite reason to Air Raid: nothing here is fast, and the difficulty is entirely a fuel budget. The plane has to get back to Zero's roof afterwards.

Objectives

  1. Destroy the couriers before they complete their deliveries
  2. Line the RC Baron up behind the courier
  3. Fly back to Zero's roof

Walkthrough

  1. Furthest first

Fuel is the real timer, and the couriers on the far side of the city are the ones that become unreachable as it drains. Taking the distant targets while there is fuel to reach them leaves the near ones for the end.

  2. Glide, do not throttle

Holding the throttle open burns the tank without adding much speed. Climbing and then gliding between targets is what makes the fuel stretch across all five, and it steadies the aim as a side effect.

  3. Line up behind

The objective is explicit that the shot comes from behind the courier, which is also the only approach that does not end in a collision — the Baron is destroyed by contact with almost anything. Settle into the tail position before firing rather than shooting across.

Home in Los Santos after five years in Liberty City for his mother's funeral, and stopped by the same two police officers who drove him out. Rebuilding the family's standing turns into rebuilding most of the state's.
