Mission 57 of 105Story missionOptional

01/04

Briefing

The driving school in Doherty is a course rather than a mission: twelve exercises in car control, each scored bronze, silver or gold, and each teaching something the rest of San Andreas will ask for. The 360, the handbrake stop and the two-wheel work all turn up in missions later.

It is optional and it pays in vehicles rather than money. A bronze average puts a Super GT on the forecourt, silver a Bullet, gold a Hotknife — and passing it is what lets the Wang Cars showroom open once Yay Ka-Boom-Boom is done.

Walkthrough

  1. Twelve tests, one average

Each exercise is graded on its own and the reward is set by the average across all twelve, so a single failed test does not sink the run and a single perfect one does not carry it. Individual tests can be repeated.

  2. What it is teaching

The exercises are not arbitrary: precision reversing, the handbrake turn and holding a car on two wheels are all techniques the campaign asks for later. The school is worth passing for the driving as much as for the cars.

Home in Los Santos after five years in Liberty City for his mother's funeral, and stopped by the same two police officers who drove him out. Rebuilding the family's standing turns into rebuilding most of the state's.
