Mission 45 of 90Story mission
Playboy X and Dwayne Forge cannot both stay, and the game makes Niko decide which one does. It is GTA IV's first irreversible choice and the first that changes what the player owns afterwards.
Killing Dwayne pays $25,000 and leaves Playboy alive. Killing Playboy pays nothing and hands Niko the Northwood penthouse as a safehouse, Dwayne's friendship and the backup he provides, and an outfit from the last time this city was built.
Both men are reachable and the mission does not push either way. Weigh what each is worth afterwards rather than what each has paid so far: a permanent Algonquin safehouse and a friend who sends armed help, against a single $25,000 payment.
The shorter of the two. Niko goes through the door of Dwayne's apartment, deals with the roommate — who has a baseball bat — and finds Dwayne through the door on the right, in the kitchen.
Five of his men are in the penthouse; the lift puts Niko into cover as it opens. Playboy runs across to the next roof, down through it and out to the street, where a Patriot full of Hustlers blocks the way — sprint past them into the alley rather than fighting there. He is cornered at a locked door at the end of it.
Who this mission brings together, and the ground it covers.
