Mission 2 of 90Story mission
Roman's creditors turn up at the depot, and the mission is Niko's introduction to the fact that his cousin's problems are not rhetorical. Two Albanians — Bledar Morina and Dardan Petrela — are looking for a payment Roman does not have, and the job is to get Roman to a hardware store, keep watch while he is inside, and warn him by phone the moment they arrive.
The phone Niko is given here is the interface the rest of the game runs through: missions, friends, taxis and the police database all reach him on it.
Stay in the car while Roman is inside. The objective asks for a stationary watch rather than a patrol, and the game uses the pause to run its own tutorials.
Ring Roman as soon as the Albanians appear. He leaves through the back of the shop and comes back to the car.
Drive away rather than engaging. They fire pistols at the car and Niko survives it; the pursuit ends of its own accord, and the mission closes when the taxi is parked back at the depot.
Who this mission brings together, and the ground it covers.
