Crime and Punishment

Mission 9 of 90Story mission

01/03

Briefing

Niko wakes in Mikhail Faustin's basement being asked questions, and leaves it with a job: three vans have to be stopped before they reach their drops, and the only thing on a Liberty City road a van will pull over for is a police car.

So the mission opens by asking Niko to steal one, which is the first time the game hands him a cruiser as a tool rather than a threat.

Walkthrough

  1. Getting a cruiser

One pulls up nearby and its driver goes into a house. Taking it while he is gone costs no wanted level, which taking one off an officer in the street would.

  2. Stopping a van

Get the police car in front of the van rather than behind it — that is what brings it to a halt — then park and walk to the driver's window to have the back opened.

  3. The third van

The last one carries the televisions, and one of its passengers opens fire rather than stopping. Deal with him, take the Speedo and drive it to the lockup.
