Ray invites Johnny and Jim to Drusilla's to talk about his missing money, and the invitation is the answer. The two of them get out of the restaurant alive and split up to prepare for what is coming, which is the last time they see each other.
The episode does not show what happens to Jim. GTA IV does, and the man who does it is the one Johnny fought beside in a museum two missions ago.
The meeting with Ray goes the way the invitation implied and Johnny leaves in a hurry. No consulted publication carries a written method for this mission, so these steps state what the mission asks rather than how to satisfy it.
The hitmen have to be put down before they reach Johnny, and the objective list makes clear they are between him and Ashley — the meeting with her is asked for twice, either side of the fight.
