Dimitri Rascalov's men have found Ashley and told Johnny what will happen to her if he does not bring them Niko Bellic's cousin. So the president of the Alderney chapter spends an afternoon kidnapping a taxi operator out of a Broker gambling den, with Malc driving.
The instruction is to frighten Roman Bellic rather than kill him, and the mission enforces it. A reader who has played GTA IV knows what this delivery leads to and that Johnny is not told any of it.
Johnny calls Malc rather than the club for this one and meets him in Northwood. The gambling den is behind a hardware store and the grab itself is a cutscene once the car arrives.
The drive to the Bohan warehouse is the mission. Bringing the car to a complete halt for any reason lets Roman out of it, and he then has to be walked back — putting a weapon on him is enough to persuade him, at the risk of a wanted level if police see it.
Roman's own taxi number works. Calling 555-2222 brings him to Johnny instead of the other way round, which removes the escape problem entirely and costs the conversation between Johnny and Malc on the way.
