Stowaway

Mission 76 of 105Story mission

01/03

Briefing

An Andromada is taxiing for take-off with a cargo Toreno wants destroyed, and there is no time to be subtle about it. Carl rides a bike up the loading ramp of a moving aircraft, gets inside, and has to find a parachute before he can do anything useful.

Shooting is out — the cargo is explosive and Carl is standing in it. The charges go on, the crew's parachute comes off, and the exit is the rear ramp at altitude. It pays $20,000.

02/03

Objectives

  1. Plant a bomb in the plane — speed rather than stealth
  2. Use a bike to get up the plane's ramp before it takes off
  3. Board the aircraft
  4. Don't use weapons — the cargo is explosive
  5. Find a crew member's parachute
  6. Retrieve the parachute
  7. Place the satchel charges and leave by the rear exit

Walkthrough

  1. Up the ramp

The Andromada is already moving and the ramp is a narrow target on the back of it. This is a straight-line speed problem on a PCJ — approach from directly behind rather than at an angle.

  2. Unarmed inside

The objective is explicit that weapons are not to be used aboard, which leaves fists for the crew. That is a constraint rather than a suggestion: a stray round in the cargo hold ends the mission and Carl with it.

  3. Parachute, charges, ramp

The parachute has to be found before the charges are placed, because the exit is a jump from altitude. Placing the charges first and then hunting for it is how this mission is failed at the last step.
