The Truth's farm is about to be raided and his answer is to burn the crop before anybody else can find it. Carl sets fire to the fields with a flamethrower, brings down the police helicopter that arrives over them, and then drives The Truth out of Flint County in a camper van shaped like a flying saucer.
It is the mission that ends the countryside. The Mothership is driven all the way to the garage in Doherty, and everything from San Fierro onwards follows from arriving there.
The flamethrower is what the mission provides and the objective is coverage rather than a fixed number of hits — a field is done when it is alight across its area. Working across each field in sweeps is faster than hunting for unburnt patches afterwards.
A Police Maverick arrives over the farm and the mission will not proceed while it is up. The rocket launcher is the direct answer and the mission expects it to be used here.
The Mothership is slow, tall and unstable, and the route to Doherty runs the length of the map. Nothing chases it — the difficulty is entirely the vehicle, and rolling it is the only real way to lose the mission at this stage.
