Mission 15 of 90Story mission
Roman finds out what Vlad has been doing with Mallorie and decides, for the first and nearly the last time in the game, to do something about it himself. The two cousins go to Comrades to confront him, Vlad talks his way to the door and then runs, and the mission turns into a car chase that ends on the bank of the Humboldt River.
It closes the first strand of the story. Vladimir Glebov is the first antagonist in the campaign to die, and the game is careful to let the player watch Niko do it at point-blank range with Roman standing there.
Vlad has two bodyguards, and a pistol or melee will deal with them — but they do not have to be killed at all. Walking back out works, with one catch: they follow, and they will drag Niko out of the car if he is not away quickly.
Vlad takes a car and runs for the water. He crashes into a truck on the way, so the pursuit is about staying with him rather than forcing him off the road.
He abandons the wreck and goes on foot with nowhere left to go. Catching him triggers the killing, which the game takes over.
Who this mission brings together, and the ground it covers.
