The Paleto Score

Mission 53 of 83HeistThe Paleto Score

Briefing

The Paleto Bay bank taken with military hardware and no pretence of subtlety, followed by a fighting retreat down the length of the town against a five-star response and then the army.

The loudest mission in the game, and the only one whose Gold Medal asks the player to fire over four thousand rounds and cause a million dollars of damage.

Walkthrough

  1. Let it Rain

Four thousand rounds fired is a volume criterion. Trevor's minigun is the weapon to keep in hand for it.

  2. Fifty per cent accuracy

The bar is set lower than most missions because of that weapon, and firing into groups rather than across open ground is what holds it.

  3. Collateral Damage and the clock

A million dollars of damage accumulates along the main street during the retreat rather than from the firefight alone. Sixteen minutes covers the whole withdrawal, and the crew's heavy armour makes them durable rather than quick.

Gold Medal

4 criteria, all of which have to be met in a single run. Failing one does not fail the mission — it costs the medal.

  1. Let it Rain

    Fire over 4,000 bullets.

Use Trevor's minigun as much as possible.

  2. Accuracy

Finish with a shooting accuracy of at least 50%.

  3. Time

    Complete within 16:00.

  4. Collateral Damage

Cause $1,000,000 of damage in Paleto Bay.

Damage accumulates from what is destroyed along the main street during the retreat.
